HOLDS VIRTUAL PRESS CONFERENCE
This story came from an amazing opportunity as I was able to attend a virtual press conference with the Food and Drug Administration. I unfortunately wasn't called on to ask a question, but it was a still a great opportunity. I then wrote this whole story that night after the press conference to publish the next morning.

SCHOOL BOARD MEETING CONFIRMS
NO MASK MANDATES
For this article, I attended a school board meeting for the first time. The meeting was insane as it was filled with over 100 people protesting mask mandates or requesting a virtual learning option. Writing this article was tough as I made sure that both sides were represented equally as well as keeping my own personal bias out of the article. It was a great experience in covering local government.

SERVES WEEKLY TEACHER MEALS
I wrote this story as COVID-19 caused changes in my community and members were confused over the annual senior-citizen luncheon – as well as the new system for the weekly teacher meals served by the culinary class. I was able to provide information on both of these topics that people were struggling to find, specifically the changes from past years due to COVID-19. I actually got an email from a teacher at my school telling me how informative and helpful my article was for him.
COVID-19 NUMBERS RISE
IN SCHOOL, COUNTRY
As available ICU beds started to dwindle and COVID-19 numbers rose, the state grew more and more nervous about the pandemic. Of course, I wondered: what are these numbers in my community? So, I set out to find that information. I went to the school nurse for whatever she could give me on the school numbers, and then I scoured the internet for COVID-19 dashboards and statistics to find the numbers in our county. I was able to find a ton of helpful information for my community. On our website, the story ended up trending with over 800 views.
