I've had the opportunity to compete in many contests at the district, regional, state and national levels. Competing is one of my favorite activities to do, and my favorite competitions have been our University Interscholastic League competitions.

The Texas Association of Journalism Education is a statewide organization in Texas. They offer contests, conventions and scholarships to students. I've attended three conventions and learned greatly from them. I've put results from their competitions below:

In Texas, all schools compete in statewide University Interscholastic League competitions, which include five journalism events: copy editing and news, feature, headline and editorial writing. I've competed in all five events for all four years of high school. Here are some results below:
2018-2019: FRESHMAN YEAR
DISTRICT: 4th place editorial, 2nd place headline
REGIONALS: 2nd place headline
STATE: 2nd place headline
2019-2020: SOPHOMORE YEAR
STATE-QUALIFYING MEET: 2nd place editorial, 2nd place headline, 6th place feature
2020-2021: JUNIOR YEAR
